I made a monitor stand for my desk held together entirely by this glue, no nails, no screws. When faced with putting up a battery operated wall lamp with double-sided tape that could not work without a spacer because of protruding bolt heads, I glued some cardboard to the metal base. Putting the activator on the metal base plate and spraying the glue on the cardboard, I was able to squeeze them together and in seconds the bond was good enough to preceed with hanging the lamp. The lamp is still on the wall today showing that the bond is good. I am enjoying using this adhesive.
———————————————————————📝 NOTES:I used to think that super glues (cyanoacrylates) couldn’t be used to create a strong bond, but some are stronger than others—in other words, they’re not all the same.These stronger cyanoacrylates may be marketed specifically for use with one type of material (wood, plastic, metal, glass, leather, etc.), but unless I’m wrong, I believe they’re all the SAME glue—it IS an effective strategy for moving more product, though! 😆 As long as you don’t open all of them, and the bottles are designed to be clog-resistant, then you’ll be alright—your stash will stay fresh.Magic Chems is an excellent product, you can be assured of a strong bond between your materials. 👌 The glue is applied to one side, and the activator to the other, then bonded together—the activator allows for quicker curing, thus eliminating a lengthy clamping process. Included in the kit are: 2 generously-sized glue bottles, 1 can of activator, 1 small empty bottle for glue transfer, and 5 precise-application nozzles.One issue other reviewers mentioned was the activator spray broadcasting too widely for small-spot applications, but I suppose the workaround for a nozzle that can’t be adjusted is to mask off/cover the surrounding area to prevent overspray.If you, like me, had given up on super glues, thinking that once cured, the bond would fail, and simply become brittle and separate, give Magic Chems a try—few glues provide the satisfaction & convenience of an instant bond for instant gratification. 👍
This is a pretty large kit with a lot included.It comes with:- 4x large bottles of CA glue.- 2x spray cans of “activator”- 2x empty bottles- 10x application tipsThis is good quality glue with a medium viscosity grade. The slightly thicker formula allows it to stick to the applied piece and flow a little bit but not run right off the surface. I used the glue for a wood to wood bond (used as directed). I applied glue to one surface and the activator to the mating surface. It was a quick bonding time (less than 15 seconds) with a very strong bond. There was not much bleed or squeeze out between surfaces. The glue worked well!Before using it, I poured some glue from the “big” bottle to the empty bottle and used the application tip (worked as intended). I’m not sure if the tip will be reusable or is basically disposable. The description says this glue is good for metal, wood, ceramic, rubber, glass, leather, although I did not personally try all of those yet. It’s super glue, seems to work very well, and there is a lot of it in the kit.
